Born in 1975 in Radom, Wioletta Chodowicz participated in the solo singing class of Professor Agata Mlynarska at Karol Lipinski Academy of Music, Wroclaw (graduating with honours in 2002). Awards include first prize and special prize at Slavonic Vocal Music Competition in Katowice (2001); first prize and special prize at 7th National Vocal Competition in Duszniki-Zdrój (2002); semi-finalist at Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens (2005); finalist in the International Voice Competition "Concorso Di Stefano" in Trapani.
She made her debut at Teatr Wieki in Poland as Countess Almaviva Le nozze di Figaro and has been soloist at State Opera in Wroclaw since 2003. Repertoire includes Pamina Die Zauberflöte, Vitellia La clemenza di Tito, Mimì La bohème, title role Suor Angelica, Micaëla Carmen, Tatiana Eugene Onegin, title role in Karol Szymanowski Hagith.
Engagements include title role Halka, Marie Wozzeck, Nadia Boulanger Faust et Helene (Polish National Opera, Warsaw); Donna Anna Don Giovanni (Wroclaw); title role Rusalka, Tatyana Eugene Onegin (National Theatre, Prague); title role Ariadne auf Naxos (Beethoven Festival, Warsaw); concerts in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland, in venues including Munich Philharmonic; Gewandhaus, Leipzig; Tonhalle, Zurich; theatres of Hamburg, Stuttgart, Hanover and Freiburg.
