Swedish born Gisela Stille studied at Lund University, Sweden and the Opera Academy, Copenhagen. At the Royal Danish Opera, Copenhagen, roles include Corinna Il viaggio a Reims, Susanna Le nozze di Figaro, Gepopo / Venus Le grand macabre, Anne Truelove The Rake’s Progress, Lucia Lucia di Lammermoor, title role Lulu, Sophie Der Rosenkavalier, Nanetta Falstaff, Moira The Handmaid’s Tale. As a principle at Oper Bonn roles included Ännchen Der Freischütz, Marzelline Fidelio, Zerlina Don Giovanni, Tebaldo Don Carlos, Waldvogel Siegfried. As a company principle at the Royal Danish Opera her repertoire includes Corinna, Zerlina, Despina Così fan tutte, Sophie Werther, Pamina Die Zauberflöte, Susanna, Adele Die Fledermaus. Other roles include Miss Wordsworth Albert Herring (Aarhus Summer Opera, Denmark); Olympia / Antonia / Giulietta / Stella The Tales of Hoffmann (Malmö); The Vixen The Cunning Little Vixen, Michaëla Carmen (Royal Danish Opera). Recent and future engagements include Pamina (Bregenzer Festspiele); and Hélène Les vêpres siciliennes directed by Stefan Herheim (Copenhagen). On the concert platform engagements include The Dew Fairy Hänsel und Gretel with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Mark Elder; Grieg songs with Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali; Beethoven’s Symphony no 9 in Palermo, Italy; Schubert’s Mass in A major in Brussels conducted by Walter Weller.
