Meet WNO

Peter Van Hulle

Born in Windermere, Cumbria, Peter Van Hulle read Music at Leeds University, furthering his studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now RCS) and the National Opera Studio. His busy career as seen him in demand at home and abroad, singing roles including Hotel Porter Death in Venice (La Scala, La Monnaie, Concertgebouw, ENO), Pang Turandot and Shepherd Tristan und Isolde (ENO), Der Narr Wozzeck (ENO, BBCSSO), Charles Lamb Monster, Rector Peter Grimes, Monostatos Die Zauberflöte, Goro Madama Butterfly, Tchaplitsky The Queen of Spades and Dr Caius Falstaff (Scottish Opera), and Sir Bruno Robertson (WNO). Recordings include Death in Venice (Opus Arte DVD) and The Cunning Little Vixen (Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin/Kent Nagano).

Recent engagements: Schoolmaster The Cunning Little Vixen (WNO, Scottish Opera); Valzacchi Der Rosenkavalier (WNO, Irish National Opera); Snout A Midsummer Night’s Dream (ENO) and Parpignol/Death La bohème (Glyndebourne).
