Born in Brno, Tomáš Hanus is now recognised as one of the Czech Republic’s most exciting and important conductors. He first came to prominence during the Conductors’ International Competition in Katowice in 1999 and made his debut with Welsh National Opera in July 2015. Tomáš became Music Director of WNO in August 2016, making his debut in this role conducting Mahler’s Symphony No 2 at St David’s Hall.
