Opera isn't just something you experience from a seat. Opera is a living, breathing force. It's something to engage in. Join us in creating opportunities for people of all ages across Wales and England to discover how opera can transform lives.
Why work with us?
Learn and Teach
WNO works with schools across Wales and England, particularly in socially and economically deprived areas. Through the imaginative power of our art-form, we create projects that are a powerful and memorable introduction to opera, while being educationally relevant across the curriculum.
Engage and Participate
We work in communities across our touring locations with people of all ages. Our projects and programmes help people gain confidence, define their identities, relate to others, find a creative outlet and learn new skills.
Train and Develop
Every day we nurture and develop the best young talent and support them to gain professional experience within the arts sector through our many programmes, including a range of internships, apprenticeships, bursaries and Associate Artist schemes across the range of WNO’s work, that help to develop the next generation of opera makers.
We also run a very successful and well established Youth Opera involving young people from the ages of 10 to 25, nurturing their talent and giving many the skills to pursue a career in the music world.
