Soprano Judith Howarth returns to WNO this Autumn

9 October 2017

Our Autumn Season is well underway, and will finish on a real high with the return of Die Fledermaus. Taking the lead role of Rosalinde this Season will be Judith Howarth who has achieved great acclaim with WNO and companies all over the world.

Earlier this year, Judith sang the role of Cio-Cio-San in our production of Madam Butterfly which wowed audiences and critics alike in Spring and prior to that she took the title role in our 2013 production of Maria Stuarda. We’re delighted to welcome Judith back, following her recent performances in China, France, Scotland, Iceland, Germany and London. Audiences in Cardiff, and on tour, will be in for a real treat as she takes on this wonderful comedic role. With stunning costumes and scenery, this is as much a treat for the eyes as it is for the ears. Die Fledermaus closes our Cardiff season on Saturday 14 October, and then tours to Southampton, Llandudno, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol and Oxford.

Swansea audiences will also have the opportunity to hear Judith perform a variety of Opera Classics, as she joins her Die Fledermaus co-star Paul Charles Clarke and the WNO Orchestra in concert at The Great Hall, Swansea University on 19 November.
