WNO Singing Club | Welsh National Opera

SummaryBack to top

WNO Singing Club introduces 10 to 14 year olds who have a passion for music to opera and turns them into accomplished performers. Currently 50 children meet every Saturday during term time in Cardiff to learn singing techniques, drama skills, good rehearsal etiquette and most importantly, to have fun singing.

Singing Club has given concert performances including a Christmas concert at the Senedd in Cardiff. In 2012 they toured Wales and England with the world premiere of Lynne Plowman and Martin Riley's World War II ghost story The Face in the Mirror.

On Saturday 25th May 2013 Singing Club performed Stephen Deazley and Matt Harvey's A Little Book of Monsters at the Royal Welsh College of Music of Drama. For more information go to littlebookofmonsters.info.

My friends in school think it’s really posh, but it’s not like that. It’s more of an emotional way to express yourself through singing. Singing Club member
